As we left Deception Island we were hit by a storm. As the waves crashed over the yacht the sea water immediately froze to the yacht, the rigging, and those of us on watch.

Nearing the summit of Lexfjellet during an exploration of Oscar II Land in north-west Spitsbergen. After climbing a very shattered rock face we worked our way up two high glaciers to reach this stunning snow-ridge. Below is is the vast expanse of Oscar II Land and the North Isfjord National Park.
